This issue of CHINAjournal purports to give a brief review on the New Foreign Bank Rules and their impacts on foreign banks’ operation in China. It shows that in order to fully exploit the market opportunity promised by the new rules, foreign banks would have no other choice but to incorporate legal-person entities or convert their standing branches into subsidiaries.
